List of used symbols

In rbamlib the common symbols usually have 1 or 2 characters. The symbols are typically written in lower case with a few exceptions of commonly recognized variables. The following table provides the list of the used symbols and corresponding [units] that are used across rbamlib.

mu	1st adiabatic invariant \(\mu\), [MeV/G]
K	2nd adiabatic invariant K, [G^0.5 * R]
L	L-shell
en	Energy, [MeV]
pc	Momentum times speed of light, [MeV]
Jc	2nd adiabatic invariant K times speed of light, [MeV/G]
kp	Kp-index
B	Magnetic field strength, [Gauss]
Bz	IMF \(B_z\), [nT]
Pdyn	Dynamic pressure \(P_{dyn}\), [nPa]
Nsw	Solar wind density array, [n/cc]
Vsw	Solar wind velocity array, [km/sec]
ne	Electron density, [cm^-3].
T	Period, [seconds]
f	Oscillation frequency, [Hz]
phi	Magnetic local time angle [radians] (phi=0 is noon)
mlt	Magnetic Local Time [hours] (mlt=12 is noon)
mlat	Magnetic latitude, northwards from the equator [rad]
q	Particle charge, [statcoulombs] (SGS units)
m	Particle mass, [grams].
